Dear friend,
One of my greatest joys of this month will be the stunning sunrises, which truly invigorate the senses and a real tonic for the soul. By the time you receive this newsletter, my youngest son, Luke, will be miles away, starting his new chapter at Harvard University. Meanwhile, we’re gearing up for our middle son, John, to head to Plymouth University. I couldn’t be prouder and more excited for them!
To ease the ‘empty nest’ transition, I plan to spend a few mornings, ideally outside at sunrise, sipping a hot tea and perusing bulb catalogues. I’m aiming to place a large order before the middle of the month, hoping to catch the best varieties before they sell out!
Amid these family changes, our garden has also seen some significant updates this month. You can catch up on our gardening adventures in this month’s blog in collaboration with Genus.

STAR PLANT OF THE MONTH
Kirengeshoma Palmata
Around the time we were in the early stages of creating our garden, I can clearly remember gravitating to, and buying, this stunning plant at a local open garden event. I was fascinated by its dark stems, unusual shaped leaves and butter yellow pendant flowers. To this day, everyone who passes it during the month of September and October asks what it is!
