Dear friend,

I’ve got butterflies in my stomach and an ache inside my chest! THIS is the perfect month to not only celebrate my birthday, but also launch a brand new membership for you to join and become more connected to us and our garden.

Over the last few months, Tom and I have been working together on creating a unique space, away from the noise of social media where we can share all the joys of gardening, plus lots of extras that you’ll never see on my instagram… it’s where I can be me.

It’s about being part of a community of likeminded people who share your passion. You can expect monthly live online gatherings, chats and Q&As covering all kinds garden related topics. You can interact within the community, or just dip in and out and never miss what’s happening here.

We wanted it to be an alternative to a coffee and catch up (in terms of price) just with people who are passionate about all things gardening as you are.

Watch the trailer below to find out what it’s all about!

5 things to do in the garden this month

THE AUGUST EDIT

Once all the abundance of spring and some of the early summer flowers have faded, looking tired and floppy, I like to do what we call “editing”. I do this by giving select perennials a good cut back to the ground. Find out more about this and some of the other jobs I’ll be getting on with this month on our blog in collaboration with Genus Gardenwear.

STAR PLANT OF THE MONTH

Rose Glauca

(Wild Rose)

There are several reasons to love about this rose.. since planting it here over 7 years ago it has tolerated prolonged frost, little sun and admittedly I’ve never fed it either! And yet it has continued to grow, thrive and produce the most stunning foliage and rose hips. The single delicate pink flowers are a magnet to the bees too,  a must for any garden! You can buy it here.

SUMMER AT THE LAUNDRY RETREAT

Summer at The Laundry Garden retreat

It’s that time of year… you blink and summer has disappeared in a haze of ‘to do lists’ and expectations. Even the best laid plans can get all too complicated to organise. It’s time to stop and smell the roses. Ditch the to do list and make the most of the August summer days.

We have some late availability which is completely hassle free – click, book and enjoy our roundhouse retreats. There’s lot you could do (but also the option of doing nothing at all)… Enjoy an evening stroll around the gardens, have a well earned lazy day with stunning views over the Clwydian hills, take a trip to Snowdonia or even the historic city of Chester.
