HISTORY

Once The Laundry and Dairy to Llanrhaeadr Hall, our grade II listed property is built in true Georgian style. The house was built in the 1770s. Tom’s family have owned the house and surrounding land for over 140 years. The property was passed down to Tom in 1984 and sensitively restored in 2010. Tom, Jenny and family have lived here since 2011.

We’re often asked why it’s called The Laundry Garden®. As far as we know, about 200 years ago our home used to be the the servants quarters, dairy and Laundry to the main hall (next door) where Tom’s great grandparents used to live. The walled garden was apparently filled with fruit trees, vegetables and flowers for cutting. Sadly we don’t have any photos, only stories from parents and family members that have wonderful memories to share. We felt the name was right and different enough to make people remember, not only for its history but for its future.
